Oak Park Cemetery

View of the different paths in the cemeteryOak Park Cemetery, located at the east end of Oak Park Drive, has been owned and operated by the City of Alvin since 1892. There are 6 tracks of gravesites and the only mausoleum and the only columbarium in Alvin.

Prices

Adult gravesites sell for $1,200 per space, and infant gravesites sell for $500 per space. The prices for the niches in the columbarium range between $500 and $800 per niche, depending upon the location of the particular niche.

Veteran Graves

The cemetery contains graves of both Union and Confederate Veterans, veterans of the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Many early business leaders of the community are also buried within Oak Park Cemetery.

It is a responsibility of the City Secretary's office to improve the appearance and marketing of Oak Park Cemetery. If you have any questions regarding Oak Park Cemetery, please contact the City Secretary's office at 281-388-4278. They will be happy to provide you with timely and accurate information concerning the cemetery. 

Anyone wishing to place a grave marker or foundation setting at the cemetery needs to complete this Application for Grave Marker and Foundation Settings (PDF) and please return the completed form to the City Secretary's office with the appropriate fee.

Quarterly Cemetery Clean-Up Dates

  • Rescheduled to January 31, 2023, Due to Rain
  • April 27, 2023  Rescheduled to May 3, 2023, Due to Rain
  • July 27, 2023  Rescheduled to July 20, 2023
  • October 19, 2023 Rescheduled to October 24, 2023

On the aforementioned dates, any items that are on, in or around gravesites that are in violation of the rules and regulations (PDF) will be removed. This includes holiday decorations from the previous holiday that have not yet been removed.
