Storm Water Drainage

The City of Alvin is in a very flat terrain. Removing storm water is a challenging effort. The Brazoria County Conservation and Reclamation District #3 operates and maintains the major storm water systems that removes storm water from the City.

The City of Alvin is responsible for collecting the strom water from the streets and properties in providing ditches and pipes to carry the water to the Conservation and Relcamation District ditches.

If you have a problem on one of the larger ditches in the City, please contact the Conservation and Reclamation District #3 at 281-331-3433. Their physical address is 1318 Old Rosharon Road, Alvin, Texas 77511. If localized property, contact the Public Services Department at 281-388-4325 or 281-388-4326.

Many areas within the City of Alvin are subject to flooding in a major storm. Federal regulations, adopted by the City of Alvin, regulate the construction of structures and the placement of fill prior to any construction. Please contact the Planning and Development Department at 281-388-4271 for questions.
