Management Assistant : Office of the City Manager

 

Management Assistant works under the direction of the City Manager, this position initiates, plans, coordinates and implements responsible and complex administrative, systems, operations, statistical and other management analyses, services and activities.  This position assists the City Manager in the handling of complex, multi-dimensional management issues requiring a high level of originality and independent judgment.  The position conducts and/or oversees studies on operational, administrative, and legislative issues.  The position also advises management on management and administrative issues and provides highly complex and responsible assistance to the City Manager.  This position will also assist various departments in completing special and ongoing projects. Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or related field required.  Master’s degree in public administration preferred. Experience Requirements: Minimum two (2) years increasingly responsible administrative and analytical experience preferred within a local government environment.

Convention Visitor Bureau Director : Convention Visitor Bureau 

 

The Alvin Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) Director will organize and supervise the operation of the bureau. The Director will manage the day-to-day activities of the ACVB and develop and implement programs to achieve the goals set forth within the parameters of the annual budget. The Director's primary areas of responsibility are to organize, promote and implement special promotion, projects and tourism-related strategies. To sell, market and promote the City of Alvin throughout the state, region and nation. Respond to all inquiries relating to and including tourism, conferences, sporting events, etc. Assist in development of annual Convention and Visitor Bureau budget for presentation to City Council for hotel/motel tax fund allocation. Manage the ACVB social media accounts and website to promote activities. Provide for the development and dissemination of promotional materials, press releases, articles, etc. Assist in developing events on behalf of the City which attract out-of-town visitors.

Deputy Court Clerk : Municipal Court 

 

Under general supervision of the Court Administrator, this position provides administrative support to the City's court system by processing payments of fines and fees, warrants and cases set on arraignment and trial dockets. The position resides in a fast-paced working environment, in which the candidate must have the ability to multi-task and handle money. Bilingual strongly preferred, but not required. Other duties may include assisting judges and prosecutor by processing documents and attending court proceedings when required, providing customer service and interfacing with citizens and other city personnel. High school graduate, or its equivalent plus two years of clerical and/or customer service experience is strongly recommended. Candidates will be subjected to background check and physical.

Code Compliance Officer II :  Code Compliance Division

 

Directs, manages, supervises and coordinates the activities and operations of the Code Enforcement Division within the Public Services Department including general code enforcement.  Coordinates assigned activities with other divisions departments and outside agencies, and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Director of Public Services. Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Seven years of increasingly responsible code enforcement, investigative and or inspections experience, including two years of administrative responsibility, Valid Texas drivers license.

Operates heavy equipment including dump truck and various machinery and tools to perform maintenance, cleaning and/or repair of City streets and drainage systems. Performs related work as required. H.S. diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Part-Time Maintenance Worker : Parks Division 

 

Will be responsible for maintaining and upkeep of the City's parks, buildings, grounds and preparation for community events. Maintains and mows parkland and athletic fields, trims trees and shrubs, waters and tills flower beds. Inspects playgrounds, cleans park restrooms and all other duties as assigned. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license in good standing.  


SALARY:
$9.77 HR
